Nimble Launches Sequence Activities — Schedules the Human Work, Not Just the Emails

New release turns Email Sequences into workflow engines that schedule the calls, comments, texts, and personal touches that automated email alone can no longer deliver.

ASHEVILLE, NC — May 19, 2026 — Nimble, The Team Relationship CRM for solopreneurs and small business teams, today announced Sequence Activities — a major expansion of its Email Sequences feature. Sequences can now schedule tasks, calls, calendar events, and custom activities alongside email steps, turning what was previously an email-only tool into a workflow engine for human outreach.

The release lands on a deliberate thesis: as outreach automation has scaled, its effectiveness has collapsed. Inboxes are saturated, response rates are falling, and prospects can spot a templated email at twenty paces. The teams winning in 2026 are the ones who pair automated email with deeply human, manually executed touches — comments on a prospect's LinkedIn post, a text referencing something they actually care about, a phone call with real context.

Nimble's new release is built to make those human touches happen — reliably, on time, assigned to the right person on the team. A sequence in Nimble is no longer a chain of emails. It's a play that includes the homework, the social engagement, the call, and the text — each scheduled, tracked, and impossible to forget.

Ferrara has held this position for a long time. In 1989, he co-founded GoldMine with Elan Susser — the first contact-centric CRM, which pioneered automated marketing workflows years before HubSpot, Marketo, or Pardot existed. "The original idea behind GoldMine was that a CRM should automate the next action, not just store the last one," Ferrara said. "Most of the industry forgot that. We're bringing it back — for the era when the most valuable next action is almost always something only a human can do."

What's New

With this release, Nimble Email Sequences now support:

  • Scheduled human actions — tasks, calls, calendar events, and custom activity types fire alongside automated emails, so the social comment, the personal text, the prep work, and the call all happen on time
  • Flexible triggering — activities can fire at the start of a sequence, after a specific message, or after a defined delay
  • Team assignment — each activity can be auto-assigned to the right team member, making sequences a true team workflow, not an individual tool
  • Calendar sync — events created by sequences can post to Nimble's calendar or to a connected Outlook or Google Calendar
  • Unified tracking — every activity appears on the contact record, in the Activities tab, and on the Nimble Today page

Why It Matters

For solopreneurs and small business teams — Nimble's core audience — the cost of a missed human touch is high, and the operational overhead of scheduling one manually is higher. Most teams know they should comment on the prospect's post before the call, send the personal text after the meeting, follow up by the channel the prospect actually responds on. Most teams don't, because that work lives in a different tool than their emails.

Nimble has now put all of it in one place. A typical play: an introduction email goes out today. Three days later, the sequence creates a task on the rep's Today page to leave a substantive comment on the prospect's most recent LinkedIn post. Two days after that, a follow-up call lands on the rep's calendar, with full contact context one click away. The sequence runs; the human shows up prepared.

The First Step in a Larger Release

Today's announcement is the first of three AI-focused releases shipping over the coming months:

  • AI Sequences — arriving in the coming weeks, drafting sequences from a customer's actual relationship history rather than generic templates
  • Relationship Graph — surfacing the most important contacts based on signals across email, deals, and conversations
  • Email Signature Enrichment — automatically building and enriching contact records from email signature data

The shared thread across all three: less time on contact-management grunt work, more time on the relationships that compound.

Availability

Sequence Activities are live today for all Nimble customers. Existing sequences can be edited to add activities; new sequences can be built from the Outbound tab by clicking + New Sequence, then Add → Activity.
