Transform Business Cards into Nimble Contacts (Android Users)

You’ve had a long day at a conference, and your wallet is a little bit thicker with the spoils of your networking successes. Throughout your meetings, you’ve collected business cards from potential new leads, and now it’s time to enter them as new contacts into your CRM.

Rather than typing all of this information out manually, why not let your phone do the work for you? Using CamCard’s business card scanner for Android, you can easily add business cards as new contacts to your phonebook! Then, using the Nimble mobile app, your business cards become new contacts in Nimble, ready to be nurtured!

Let’s get started:

1) Visit the Google Play store on your phone, and search for “CamCard Free – Business Card Reader”. Tap “Install” to install it on your phone.

When using the Nimble mobile app, feel free to adjust your settings for contacts sync! You can choose specific groups from your phone to import contacts from, and what tag will be applied to these contacts when they are imported to Nimble.

You may also choose to set up an automatic sync of your phone’s contacts to Nimble by tapping “Sync in background”. The Nimble mobile app will automatically sync contacts from your phone to Nimble about once per hour!

Now sit back, relax, and allow Nimble to automatically take care of adding your business card contacts to your database.

  1. How can I import Neat scanned business cards into Nimble?

  2. Hi Bryan,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It looks like depending on the version of Neat you are using, you should be able to export your business card data to a vCard or CSV file, and then you will be able to import the information to Nimble!

For the steps to do so, please see these support articles:

    Exporting to vCard: http://www.neat.com/helpcenter/exporting-neat-contacts-vcard/
    Exporting to CSV: http://www.neat.com/helpcenter/exporting-to-csv/

vCards can be imported as-is to Nimble! Simply visit Settings >> Networks & Imports, and select the “vCard” option towards the bottom of the page.

If you export your business card data to CSV, you will need to format your file to meet Nimble’s requirements. Our support article with more information is located here: http://support.nimble.com/customer/portal/articles/522529

You may import CSV files to the “Generic CSV” option in Settings >> Networks & Imports.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to write to us at care@nimble.com if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help!

    Best Regards,

    Krystan

  3. Hi Krystan,

Thanks for this post. Two questions:
Is there a video on this process?
Is there a way to move CamCard contacts into Nimble via the desktop?

  4. Hi Stan,

Thanks for reaching out! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed this post. :)

At this time, we don’t have video available for the CamCard integration. I’ll be sure to share this with our Product team for consideration, however!

The CamCard desktop app enables you to export your contacts to Excel, according to their blog post here: https://blog.camcard.com/?p=731

Please note, this blog post was written in 2014, and their steps to export contacts may be different now. My best recommendation is to reach out to their support team for clarification. They may be reached here: support@intsig.com

Once your contacts have been exported to Excel, you may save the file in CSV format, and import it to Nimble by using our new CSV import wizard, available in your Settings >> Networks & Imports page.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to write to us at care@nimble.com with any additional questions you may have.

    Best Regards,
