Nimble Named Most Loved Tech Startup in Santa Monica for the Second Year in a Row

The Nimble team could not possibly be more thrilled to receive an honor as Santa Monica’s 2017 Most Loved Tech Start-Up Business by the Santa Monica daily press. We are humbled by this recognition and cannot thank our community enough for their endless support. With more and more tech start-ups being founded in Silicon Beach each year, the competition is only getting tougher. Having such a profound impact on our Santa Monica home is not something we take lightly. We are excited to continue scaling our SaaS CRM platform and innovating the means of technology.

Over the past 5-10 years, there has been a massive increase in tech companies in the Santa Monica, Venice, and Playa Vista areas of Los Angeles, accelerated by the opening of the Google near Venice Beach. Sometimes referred to as “Silicon Beach,” the area now has over 500 tech start-ups, including some pioneers in tech and media, such as YouTube, Yahoo, Buzzfeed, and Snapchat. It’s no mystery why these parts of LA have become home to so many creative tech firms, after all, the city is known for its vibrant, open-minded, and highly diversified environment. In fact, Silicon Beach has the second largest number of adults who start their own businesses, just following the original tech mecca, San Francisco. 

Douglas Aircraft of the Rand Corporation and Jon Ferrara, CEO of Nimble, are considered some of the earliest tech innovators in this area. It also goes without saying that Santa Monica’s relaxed and enjoyable lifestyle has attributed to an influx of young adults looking to live and find work.

The results were derived from voting that took place via a Survey Monkey questionnaire in February 2016. Voters were asked to fill in an answer naming their Most Loved business in the categories listed (Ex. Downtown Santa Monica business, Happy Hour, Locally Owned, Independent Business, Tech Startup).

Results were tabulated by representatives from partnering Most Loved campaign organizations and verified by the Buy Local executive committee. Participation in this year’s campaign topped 3, 400 votes, the best turnout yet as Most Loved Santa Monica continues to grow in popularity.
